Our company was founded as Scenic Shell in 1965 by Jim Reeves of Reeves Enterprises. Back then, the corner of Scenic Drive and Old Oakdale Road was the outskirts of town. As the city grew, the station became a fixture. At one time Reeves Enterprises owned and operated three Shell stations in Modesto. These gas outlets have since been sold to allow us to concentrate on towing and auto repair services.
Jim is now retired and his sons Randy and Mike run the business under the names Scenic Towing & Auto Care and Mike's Tow. These two businesses operate as one out of an 8,000 square foot building and storage yard on Bangs Avenue.
In 1973, Reeves Enterprises added two tow trucks to the gas station and in 1975 we purchased a rival tow service. By the early '80s we were running 1,800 calls per month. Today, the pattern of quality customer care has increased the flow of calls to over 4,000 per month, which we service with our fleet of 18 trucks.
We've been privileged to maintain a contract with AAA since 1973, with an excellent record of prompt, reliable service. We handle 22% of all AAA service calls between Fresno and Galt. We also have contracts with most major automobile clubs such as National Automobile Association and Cross Country Automotive Services.
Highly trained mechanics in our NAPA Auto Care Center have taken care of 40 years' worth of customers.
If you're ever stranded by the side of the road, call us and we'll take care of you. Better yet, call us before you break down, and let us make sure your vehicle is in excellent shape!
